Direct Report To: Senior Vice President of Sales

The Associate Director, Target owns Duracell's strategy and business results within one of the company's most important retail partnerships, translating shopper and category insight into a merchandising plan that drives category growth and profitability at Target.

The role leads the Annual Joint Business Plan with Target's Buying and Roundel teams, sells and executes national initiatives (new item launches, transitions, brand restages), and owns the account's demand forecast, trade investment, and P&L.

Success requires strong analytical and financial acumen paired with the relationship skill to build alignment internally and at the account, and is measured through topline sales, share growth, and operating income delivery for the full Target account.

Scope: full ownership of the Target account P&L, working cross-functionally with Finance, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and category teams.

Responsibilities

•    Lead Target's omnichannel merchandising strategy and portfolio, and serve as the primary point of contact for Target's Buying and Roundel teams to secure alignment on the Annual JBP.
•    Own the Target P&L, driving gross sales, net revenue, and operating income growth while continuously improving return on sales (ROS).
•    Sell, negotiate, and execute Duracell initiatives at Target — new item launches, product transitions, and brand restages — to protect and grow shelf position.
•    Manage Target's unit and dollar shipment forecast, partnering with Demand Planning and Supply Chain to drive forecast accuracy and reliable in-stock performance.
•    Build the ROI case for incremental investment with Finance partners, and own trade funding to plan (earn vs. burn) to keep the account on budget.
•    Analyze consumption and syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, NPD) to identify new growth opportunities and build "close the gap" plans when KPIs are at risk.
•    Oversee Target account receivables and trade fund reconciliation, ensuring plans are documented and payments are timely and accurate.

Qualifications

Must-Have
•    Bachelor's degree
•    5–8 years of CPG account management / sales experience
•    Strong financial acumen — margins, retail math, forecasting, and ROI analysis
•    Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and PowerPoint skills for fact-based storytelling
•    Willingness to travel up to 20%

Nice-to-Have
•    Direct Target account management experience
•    Syndicated data experience (IRI, Nielsen, NPD)
•    Proven track record negotiating and influencing outcomes across cross-functional and central teams
