Summary:
The Manager EA Sales and Proposal Long Products is responsible for marketing and selling all of the company’s Long Products Electrics & Automation products in the Americas Region (North and South America), provide aftermarket support in the form of service and revamp proposals, and to represent the company’s interests in general.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the Sales Managers, Engineering Department and Automation Department, determines which references will be used for equipment and for cost.
- Management of proposal writing and editing
- Manages sales calls and attends sales functions, as required
- Project coordination with team members in the proposal stage
- Coordination of engineering work for proposal preparation
- Prepare and edit cost estimates for proposed project
- Technical presentation of proposals to prospective customers
- Technical presentation of SMS group technology to prospective customers
- Contacts and coordination with main vendors for proposal purposes
- Inter-departmental or inter-company contacts concerning proposals
- Developing and executing marketing strategy for Americas region customers, including customer communications and visits
- Identifying potential projects (new equipment and aftermarket), selecting appropriate technologies, and developing technical and commercial specifications
- Project management of the company’s Americas Region Direct Service contracts including customer and supplier liaison
- Customer support / liaison of the company’s domestic references
- Approximately 25-40% travel required for customer and supplier visits or internal company meetings
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise up to 3 Sales and Proposal Engineers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science – Engineering degree (Electrical Engineering, Automation engineering or Mechatronics).
- 5 years’ experience working with Industrial Automation (supplier or end user)
- Experience in Section/Rail Mills and/or Bar and Wire mills is required
- Candidates must be self-motivated and display creativity, strong problem-solving skills, and work well in a diverse team environment • Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills, with a strong emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Skills Required
