Job Responsibilities
- Meet face to face with NS personnel (both engineering and purchasing) to resolve issues and evaluate opportunities
- Must communicate demands and initiatives to Corporate and the Tie plants to assure all NS requirements are being met
- Track and manage all key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Trace, bill and assist in fleet management to drive production planning and manage inventory levels
- Purchase order management
- Resolve any invoice or accounts payable issues in a timely manner to minimize any impact to cash flow
- Recognize and notify both Koppers and NS of potential cost savings opportunities
- Manage railcar status, i.e., trace reporting
- Notify respective personnel (procurement, engineering, treating plants) of any potential impacts to production based on railcar supply and inventory levels
- Manage the NS switch tie priorities and orders and coordinate with roadway material yard
- Assist with recurring production meetings between NS and Koppers Plants
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, forestry or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in operations, logistics, or marketing/sales
- Ability to make decisions, plan and analyze information
- Strong organization and leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft word, MS-DOS, Excel and Outlook
