Summary Description:
The Sales Analyst is a strategic partner to the Walmart sales team, translating POS, syndicated, and shopper data into actionable selling stories, category insights, and promotional analytics. This role identifies growth opportunities, evaluates promotional effectiveness, and supports line reviews, new item launches, and joint business planning. This position works closely with Sales, Marketing, Sales Strategy & Planning and Trade Finance to influence customer strategy and drive profitable growth.

Duties:
-
Partner with Sales to develop annual customer plans, growth targets, and category growth initiatives grounded in POS and category trends.

Develop & build impactful customer specific selling stories that reflect key category business-building initiatives.

Create, manage, and deliver weekly and monthly POS reports for designated areas of responsibility, translating trends into clear business implications.

Produce Ad-Hoc reports accurately and for timely distribution to both internal and external customers.

Deliver ad-hoc analysis with curiosity and agility, in a way that proactively uncovers business opportunities.

Responsible for e-commerce item setup, maintenance and business development.
-
Responsible for item setup/change forms (Supplier One & Scintilla) as well as promotional planning and analysis.

Represent the voice of the customer internally, influencing brand, innovation, and go-to-market decisions.

Quantify lift, ROI/iROAS, incrementality, and cannibalization to inform go-forward promotional strategy and trade spend investment.

Analyze price gaps to competition, everyday and promoted price architecture, and elasticity to support pricing recommendations.

Build and maintain recurring scorecards for internal leadership and external customer top-to-top meetings on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadence.

Other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Working experience in sales analytics, category management, or commercial analytics role.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Strong analytic skill set with the ability to provide actionable recommendations based on critical metrics.

Experience with Wal-Mart data sources, like Scintilla, preferred
-
Strong team-work; able to effectively participate and motivate others working within a team environment; be able to provide rebuttal and suggestions when necessary; work with minimal oversight.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to present to all levels within the organization as well as customers.

Should be goal oriented, confident, outgoing, and able to succeed under pressure within a competitive environment.

Experienced user of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
