Key Responsibilities 

 

Has overall sales responsibility for driving new business growth by identifying, engaging, and securing new customers across selected verticals/industries  as well as performance of the assigned customer portfolio. This role does not come with solely assigned customer portfolio; instead, the Sales Account Manager is also expected to build their own portfolio from scratch with medium impact customers, convert new opportunities into long-term partnerships, and then grow these accounts over time. 

 

  • Identifies, researches and prospects potential customers to build a strong and profitable portfolio. 

  • Develops a deep understanding of target verticals/industries and customer logistics challenges. 

  • Leads the full sales cycle: researching prospects, understanding needs, positioning Maersk’s Ocean and Logistics & Services solutions, negotiating and closing deals. 

  • Responsible for medium impact customers to the business in 
    any size cluster. 

  • Secures new business wins aligned with Maersk’s growth strategy. 

  • After acquisition, develops and grows accounts (farming) through cross-selling and up-selling opportunities. 

  • Successfully onboards new customers and ensures a smooth transition into operational delivery. 

  • Researches and analyses competitive and industry trends. 

  • Communicates significant trends, rate changes and policies to customers. 

  • Ensures customer relationship management tools are updated on time and 
    are of excellent quality. 

  • Builds strong internal collaboration with Product, Operations, CX, and Finance teams. 

 

Who we are looking for: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • Minimum 5 years of client/account/sales management experience in Shipping/Logistics industry (integrated logistics, supply chain, contract logistics). 

  • Strong commercial drive and a passion for building a portfolio. 

  • Customer-centric mindset with the ability to identify customer needs. 

  • Strategic partnering, financial acumen, value co-creator 

  • Entrepreneurial, growth-oriented, curious and proactive 

  • Strong presentation, communication and influencing skills 

  • Collaborative stakeholder management 

  • Advanced English and MS Office programs
