Veritas’ Worldwide Sales and Marketing team propels company growth by driving all aspects of sales and marketing, including direct and channel sales, global sales enablement and all marketing functions.
Responsibilities:
- The Sales Account Manager is distinguished by their deep knowledge of the IT industry and Veritas’ Information Management Portfolio. This industry expert will be assigned to large, complex, high visibility, strategic, named accounts. May encompass specified enterprise growth territory or accounts to drive new business.
- Sells Veritas’ entire information management portfolio (data protection, hybrid multi-cloud data management, cyber resiliency, application availability, data visibility & digital compliance, etc.) and maintains relationships with existing named and enterprise growth accounts that are of substantial strategic importance to the organization.
- Develops strategies and orchestrates company resources to maximize sales volume and profit goals within assigned accounts.
- The territory is comprised of accounts that are strategic to the long-term success of the organization. The candidate is expected to cultivate and maintain executive level relationships in IT and various Lines of Business (LOB), focusing on the strategic nature of the relationship.
- Represents Veritas to the customer and the customer to Veritas. Responsible for expanding Veritas’ footprint in the assigned territory, including new-logo development, cold-calling and ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Assigned to large, complex, high visibility, strategic, or tactically important accounts.
- Primary point-of-contact sales manager for account regardless of account’s geographic location.
- Engages effectively with other areas of the business: TSS, Channel, Inside Sales, Sales Specialists, PR, Sales Operations and marketing
- Actively build a strong network of contacts within partner and alliance companies
- Ability to collaborate with extended Veritas and partner teams but also to work independently to accomplish required tasks.
- Interface with all levels of management. Negotiating and influencing to build consensus. Present programs internally and externally. Work is focused on operational plans in support of strategic goals.
- Meeting and/or exceeding sales quota and customer satisfaction metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years’ sales and/or account management experience in IT software/hardware sales.
- Strong, documented track record of achievement against quota.
- Current contacts/relationships and working business knowledge of assigned customers.
- Strong business and executive level sales acumen. Tangible examples required.
- Proven ability to articulate a portfolio selling across products, solutions and services.
- Prior experience in selling Cloud solutions and Modern Workloads e.g Kubernetes/Containers technology is desirable
- Demonstrates strong sales skills and high level of technical and business acumen in both our industry and industry being sold into.
- Demonstrates a breadth and depth of knowledge arrived through exposure to complex business situations.
- Ability to map Veritas offerings against customer needs and to identify new opportunities within your territory Accounts.
- Understands the importance of account plans and clearly utilizes them to drive success
- Possess understanding of operational cadence in their specific areas
- Ensures operating within compliance from a process, legal and revenue recognition
- Demonstrable over achievement in all areas – personal, quota and development
- Exposure to the Veritas offerings would be desirable but not necessary, background in positioning infrastructure software
- Presents themselves in a professional manner, being a representative of their organization
- Excellent time management, presentation, written and oral skills.
