Job Summary: 

This position is responsible for the sales of the organization’s insulation, adhesives, and HVAC product lines. This position sells products using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs resulting in revenue generation. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, and development of sales programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Research customer needs and develop an application of products and services effectively by:

a. determining market strategies and goals for each product 

b. obtaining and coordinating data and information from staff and member groups 

c. researching and developing lists of potential customers 

d. doing market research to determine customer needs and providing information to other staff 

e. evaluating product and service marketability in terms of customers’ technical needs

f. following up on sales leads and developing leads

g. maintaining an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that affect target markets 

h. establishing and maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales 

i. working with sales support and staff to establish a communication path with the customer to ensure sales opportunities for products and services

Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner by:

a. developing sales and marketing proposals for customers on technical products and services

b. making presentations to users

c. developing technical presentations and workshops 

d. maintaining up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends, and government regulations 

e. making regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads 

f. acting to close deals and finalize contacts 

g. meeting established sales quotas and revenue goals 

h. coordinate and participate in trade shows as determined by the company

Participate in sales forecasting and planning effectively by: 

a. researching, developing, and maintaining long and short range sales and marketing plans 

b. producing regular reports and final plans for General Manager’s approval 

c. maintaining an up-to-date awareness of strategic plans and procedures to coordinate market plans 

d. monitoring, analyzing, and communicating sales data, via weekly call reports, to contribute to product/service planning 

Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers

a. communicating openly, honestly, and constructively 

b. treating all employees and customers with dignity, respect, and courtesy 

c. taking responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems 

d. asking for information needed to perform job responsibilities 

Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

Customary travel, food, and lodging expenses provided by the company

Requirements

  

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Two years’ experience in Sales required

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Coaching/mentoring experience with less senior sales staff
  • A demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of new technology trends
  • Ability to travel up to 80%
