Optum is a global organization that delivers care, aided by technology to help millions of people live healthier lives. The work you do with our team will directly improve health outcomes by connecting people with the care, pharmacy benefits, data and resources they need to feel their best. Here, you will find a culture guided by diversity and inclusion, talented peers, comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities. What you'll do:
We're excited to be recruiting for a Sales Account Executive on a 12 month fixed term contract to join our growing Partners team within the Growth function.
In this dynamic and relationship-focused role, you'll work closely with external organisations who want to integrate with Optum's partner ecosystem. Acting as the nominated point of contact, you'll guide partners through their full journey with Optum - from early conversations and onboarding, through to long-term engagement and commercial development. You'll also collaborate closely with the partner technical team, sales and marketing to ensure partners receive a seamless, consistent and high-quality experience.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow long-term partnerships, shape positive customer interactions and support the ongoing evolution of our partner network. This is a hybrid role based in Leeds.
What You'll Bring:
You'll bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage partners at all levels and build solid, trusting relationships. Highly organised and detail-focused, you'll be able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a proactive and solution oriented approach. You'll enjoy taking initiative, working independently when needed, and staying focused in a fast-paced environment.
Your ability to understand partner needs, ask thoughtful questions and respond clearly will help you guide organisations through their journey with Optum. While experience in business development or account management is an advantage, what matters most is your curiosity, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. You'll have a positive, collaborative mindset and a genuine desire to support both partners and colleagues to achieve shared success.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Leading regular conversations and review meetings with partner organisations, ensuring they receive clear guidance and timely support
  • Managing new enquiries, helping organisations understand the benefits of the partner programme and guiding them through onboarding
  • Supporting commercial discussions, including pricing models, contract changes and opportunities to expand partnership activity
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records, providing reliable forecasting and keeping up to date with product developments to confidently support partners

Who You'll Be:
You'll be an engaging, relationship-driven professional who enjoys working directly with external organisations. You'll feel confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and will bring a proactive approach to helping partners navigate our programmes and processes.
Naturally curious and detail-focused, you'll enjoy understanding partner needs and finding ways to deliver an excellent experience. You'll be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and will work collaboratively with internal teams to drive positive outcomes. Experience in account management or business development is helpful, but a solid customer focus and willingness to learn are equally important.
You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.
