AppsFlyer’s Finance Team is looking for an experienced Salary Controller to join our payroll team and lead end-to-end payroll operations for a large, global workforce. The role is focused on Israeli payroll today, with room to grow into global payroll responsibilities over time. This role requires deep expertise across payroll processes, labor law, reporting to authorities, and the ability to handle complex cases in a fast-changing environment-while working closely with multiple stakeholders across the business.
This is a role for someone who wants to do more than execute: you'll be expected to bring AI and automation into how payroll is run, shaping new tools and processes as the function grows.
This is an outstanding opportunity to learn and grow within a fast-paced, dynamic global company, working with global standards and diverse stakeholders.
What you’ll do - Global standards:
- Own and analyze end-to-end payroll processes for 700+ employees, as part of the Payroll team, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain and validate payroll master data across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, changes, terminations), ensuring data integrity across systems.
- Manage complex payroll cases (e.g., terminations, relocations, special benefits, corrections, retro payments, equity implications, leaves, garnishments, and exceptions).
- Lead payroll activities for month-end / quarter-end close, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and support for payroll journal entries and GL reporting.
- Partner closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and external vendors/consultants on payroll operations, compliance topics, and process improvements.
- Support internal/external audits and work with auditors to ensure documentation, controls, and payroll reports are audit-ready.
- Drive continuous improvement: build, document, and optimize payroll workflows, controls, and reporting in a fast-paced, changing environment.
What you bring (Must-have):
- 3 years of hands-on payroll experience from a large scale global company (preferably 700+ employees).
- Proven end-to-end payroll expertise, including calculations, benefits, deductions, reporting, and compliance.
- Solid understanding of payroll regulations and statutory reporting; ability to quickly learn and apply local labor and tax requirements (Israeli payroll knowledge is a strong advantage).
- Ability to manage high volume, tight deadlines, and frequent changes with high accuracy.
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders (HR, Finance, Legal, external providers).
- High attention to detail, ownership, discretion, and integrity.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, xlookups, reconciliations, data validation) and ability to analyze large datasets.
- Strong curiosity for technology and automation, with a genuine interest in applying AI tools to payroll operations and reporting.
- Fluent English (written and spoken) - an advantage.
Bonus Points:
- Hands-on experience with Hilan systems: Hilan Pro, Hilan NEXT, Hilanet (time & attendance).
- Experience with global payroll systems and/or supporting payroll activities outside Israel.
- Experience with NetSuite and HRIS platforms (Oracle - an advantage).
- Hands-on experience applying AI or automation tools to payroll, HR, or reporting workflows.
