Computer System Uses computer system (RIS/HIS) to document accurate and timely patient/procedure information to ensure efficient quality patient care. 3. Preparation/Set-Up iAssists physicians in fluoroscopicnterventional procedures and prepares contrast as needed. Ensures that imaging rooms are properly set up and functional before physician begins procedure 4. Technique iEmployee uses proper techniques that minimize radiation exposure to self, patients the general public and other health care personnel. Modifies care according to patient’s age. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education Requirements:Graduate of Certificate Program in Radiography or Associate in Science Degree Minimum Work Experience:One to three years experience preferred, but not required Other skills and abilities:Knowledge of radiographic procedures, equipment operation, radiation safety, positioning techniques, patient transfers, good communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks/projects, ethical and professional conduct, good understanding of age-related developmental issues of pediatrics and geriatrics. Flexibility to work overtime as needed as well as on-call duty, weekend rotations. Interest in participating in orientation/clinical education of student radiographers in accordance with clinical education center guidelines for radiologic technology program(s). Equipment/Software/Certification:Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in radiography, or equivalent. Renewed annually. Licensure by theCommonwealthofMassachusettsin Radiography. Renewed biannually

Pay Range: 

$31.49-$46.27

Skills Required

  • Graduate of Certificate Program in Radiography or Associate in Science Degree
  • Certification by ARRT in Radiography (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Licensure in Radiography by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Knowledge of radiographic procedures, equipment operation, radiation safety, and positioning techniques
  • Competence using computer systems (RIS/HIS) to document patient/procedure information
  • Ability to assist physicians in fluoroscopic/interventional procedures and prepare contrast as needed
  • Ability to perform patient transfers and modify care for pediatric and geriatric patients
