What you get to do: 

As a Senior Safety Specialist – Safety, you will

  • Directly report to the Safety and Environment Supervisor. 
  • Assist with developing, maintaining, and instructing EHS related training courses for ambassadors at SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, and Discovery Cove. 
  • Provide support for the General Services department by leading safety meetings, assisting with hazard analysis, and performing audits on maintenance shops.
  • Participate in EHS inspections focusing on compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations. 
  • Conduct inspections of work areas and ambassadors for compliance, audit vehicles and equipment for inspections, review training records, and chemical inventories and proper storage. 
  • Attend safety meetings. 
  • Must be able conduct all EHS classroom training sessions 
  • Develop training calendar  
  • Must be able to obtain Forklift, High Reach and DOT certifications within 90 days of employment 
  • Provide exceptional, professional guest service in a team environment. 
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors, and our Guests. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

What it takes to succeed: 

  • 2 years of experience in EHS or a related field preferred 
  • Must be certified as a CPR/First Aid/AED trainer or willing to become certified. 
  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License  
  • Competent person certifications preferred 
  • Theme park experience preferred 
  • Ability to maintain a valid DOT physical card. 
  • Ability to meet company driving guidelines. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively. 

What else is important: 

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.  
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed 
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing) 
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes  
    Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals 
  • Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays 
  • Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
