Job Description
ProSidian Seeks a Safety Readiness Support Specialist - GSSC [Full-Time [W-2]] located: The Hanford Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area to provide General Support Services Contractor (GSSC) assistance to support DOE Hanford [which consists of Richland Operations Office (RL), and Office of River Protection (ORP)] in support of the Govt’s operations, personnel management, and general administration of regional operations at the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington.
ProSidian's work includes supporting requirements for consulting, acquisition support, program/project mgmt., operational/administrative business support, and environmental consulting support. It is also ProSidian's duty to adhere to regulations covering the responsibility to protect classified matter (including documents, material, and special nuclear material) in connection with the performance of work under this contract.
JOB OVERVIEW
Provide services as a Safety Readiness Support Specialist on behalf of The DOE Assistant Manager for Safety and Quality (AMSQ) Nuclear Safety Division. The Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Site, Richland Operations Office AMSQ - Nuclear Safety Division requires Readiness Support general support services. The Safety Readiness Support Specialist will have responsibility for the execution of the itemized work scope below.
- Planning strategic activities required for DOE Hanford Site to achieve readiness and verify readiness for nuclear operations.
- Assisting DOE Hanford Site staff and management in the conduct of activities to achieve readiness and verify readiness to safely conduct nuclear operations.
- Providing professional counsel on the implementation of a Readiness Program by Line Management.
- Promoting coordination between all relevant functions related to Readiness for the DOE Hanford Site projects to safely conduct nuclear operations.
- Conducting oversight of the DOE Hanford contractor’s readiness program.
DOE Hanford Site is responsible for Line Management oversight of Hanford contractors and is also responsible for declaring a readiness to safely conduct radioactive operations prior to Readiness Reviews which are currently scheduled in 2023 and 2024.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. Safety Readiness Support Specialist shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined below:
- Assessment reports, metrics reports, correspondence memoranda, and key documents are required by DOE directives.
Deliverables shall be accomplished in accordance with the directions provided by Hanford Project Division Directors and/or Assistant Managers. All deliverables will be processed through the Hanford Readiness Manager prior to internal and/or external publication and availability.
SAFETY READINESS SUPPORT SPECIALIST DELIVERABLES
- Assessment reports, metrics reports, correspondence memoranda, and key documents required by DOE directives.
- Weekly Report. This report will address work accomplished, and deliverable progress to be provided to the technical monitor.
- Monthly Report. This report will be a combination of the weekly status reports and shall be submitted with the monthly invoice. The report shall also include:
- Deliverable progress, and date(s) submitted if applicable, submitted within this invoice period.
- Work schedule for Safety Readiness Support Specialist, to include any leave taken.

Qualifications
Desired Qualifications For A GSSC Safety Readiness Support Specialist (PR0149) | Full-Time [W-2] Candidates:
The Safety Readiness Support Specialist - GSSC shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.
Skills / Abilities / Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications
- Experience with the execution of DOE Order 425.1D (Verification of Readiness to Startup or Restart Nuclear Facilities) in the startup of nuclear facilities.
- Performance in key positions in the work to achieve readiness and verify readiness to safely operate complex high risk nuclear facilities.
- Experience with direct interface with senior management.
- Knowledge of DOE orders, standards, policies, and procedures providing requirements and guidance for the safe startup of nuclear facilities.
- Knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities.
Knowledge of:
- Federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Contractor assurance and corrective action management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
TRAINING
Safety Readiness Support Specialist shall maintain proficiencies in the following via periodic training: HGET – Hanford General Employee Training (HGET): The Computer-Based Training portion of the Hanford General Employee Training course is designed to be used in a classroom setting with a live instructor. Future references to this course'' refer only to the computer-based portion of the whole.
TRAVEL
Travel as coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
LOCATION: The place of performance for this task order shall be 2420/2430/2440 Stevens Center Place, Richland, WA. This position is telework optional at the discretion of the Technical Monitor (TM) and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) in consultation with the Contracting Officer (CO). If in-person support is identified as required for any reason and for any length of time by the TM, COR, or CO, Safety Readiness Support Specialist shall report for duty in person as requested.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
- All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a “Facility Access Authorization” (also referred to as an “Employment Authorization”) by the USG’s designated Security Office.
