Manages the development and administration of programs to ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health and safety regulations. Identifies and appraises risk conditions which could produce occupational injuries or illnesses. Evaluates potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents and classifies particular workstations. Compiles, analyzes and interprets statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents. Investigates occupational accidents, analyses their causes to prevent them. Co-operates with employees’ council or labor union in the field of occupational health and safety. Ensures training for employees entering work areas of the organization.

The AMST University Park, IL location is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to implement and management all aspects of safety for two manufacturing plant locations that ensure a safe working environment to help prevent injuries and accidents.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

• Manage the development and administration of programs to ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health and safety regulations.
• Identify and appraises risk conditions which could produce occupational injuries or illnesses.
• Evaluate potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents and classifies particular workstations.
• Compile analyzes and interprets statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents.
• Investigate occupational accidents, analyses their causes to prevent them.
• Design and implement a Safety program that includes new hire training, quarterly training for the entire staff, safety drills/plans, etc.
• Initiate and lead a safety team/committee to assist in safety management across both facilities and promote best safety protocols as a part of the company's culture.

Qualifications:

• B.A. or B.S. in Occupational Safety or a related field required.
• Safety related certifications preferred.
• 7 to 10 years' experience in safety regulations, compliance standards, reporting, creating safety programs, conducting safety audits and inspections, and administer training within a manufacturing plant.
• Advanced experience with data analysis and detailed report writing and documentation.
• Must be strong in verbal and written communication.

Salary Range: $90,000 to $115,000.00 (based on experience)
