Job Description:
1. Provide environmental, health and safety functions for assigned facilities to include a strong chemical safety and waste management focus.
2. Escalates issues and concerns faced in timely manner to Safety Head and/or manager.
3. Ensure all Government, Organizational Safety Rules & Regulations are followed.
4. Provide weekly updates on tasks, issues or ideas to the management team and safety department, highlighting opportunities for continuous improvement.
5. Be an active participant in the company’s safety programs (e.g. near miss, new process reviews, audit points, training, work inspections, etc).
Education and Experience Required :
- Formal certification in Environment, Health & Safety, Minimum 10 years’ experience, Chemical knowledge preferable, NEBOSH, IOSH, ADIS preferable. Government Rules & Regulation knowledge.
- A combination of education, training, and experience is required.
- 13 - 18 years of experience is required.
- Experience in chemical safety and waste management to include managing the associated permitting to operate preferred.
- Previous experience in the renewable energy sector a plus.
- Previous experience with hydrogen or other flammable gases preferred.
- Previous experience in field safety audits preferred.
The Safety Manager provides Safety expertise and measures as per Company Policies & Protocols, as well as local jurisdiction.
