About the Role
The Safety Manager serves as the primary Environmental Health & Safety resource for Oracle's workforce and direct-hire subcontractors. This individual is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving site-specific safety programs while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, Oracle safety standards, project requirements, and industry best practices. This position requires a visible field presence, strong leadership skills, and the ability to influence behaviors at every level of the organization. The Safety Manager will partner closely with project leadership, field supervision, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to identify hazards, mitigate risks, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
- Lead the implementation and execution of all site safety initiatives.
- Promote and maintain a proactive safety culture through leadership, visibility, coaching, and accountability.
- Serve as the primary safety advisor to Oracle project leadership.
- Develop positive working relationships with craft workers, supervisors, project management teams, and client representatives.
- Champion continuous improvement through observation, engagement, and data-driven decision-making.
Program Administration
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific Environmental Health & Safety programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, state regulations, Oracle requirements, and site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct regulatory assessments and evaluate compliance trends.
- Maintain all required safety records, documentation, permits, inspections, and training records.
- Support project startup planning, risk assessments, and mobilization activities.
Field Safety Oversight
- Conduct routine site audits, inspections, and behavioral observations.
- Identify hazards and implement effective corrective actions.
- Verify compliance with project safety procedures and work plans.
- Monitor high-risk construction activities including: Excavation and trenching, Fall protection, Electrical safety and LOTO, Crane and rigging operations, Scaffold systems, Hot work activities, Confined space entry, Critical lifts, Heavy equipment operations.
Incident Prevention & Investigation
- Investigate incidents, injuries, property damage, close calls, and safety concerns.
- Conduct root-cause analyses and develop corrective action plans.
- Track incident trends and develop targeted prevention strategies.
- Communicate findings to project and corporate leadership.
- Support emergency response planning and incident management activities.
Training and Workforce Development
- Administer new hire orientations and site onboarding programs.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and specialized training sessions.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to field supervision and craft personnel.
- Assist project teams in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Promote employee engagement through positive reinforcement and recognition programs.
Client and Contractor Coordination
- Represent Oracle's safety interests during project coordination meetings.
- Collaborate with general contractor safety leadership and project stakeholders.
- Evaluate subcontractor safety performance and compliance.
- Participate in safety committees, leadership reviews, and planning meetings.
- Maintain professional relationships with regulatory agencies, clients, and trade partners.
Technology-Enabled Safety Responsibilities
Utilizing Sitemetric's workforce visibility and digital safety platform, the Safety Manager will:
- Monitor workforce compliance using smart badging and workforce visibility tools.
- Review leading indicators and safety trends through digital dashboards.
- Manage electronic inspections, audits, permits, observations, and corrective actions.
- Support AI-enabled safety monitoring programs where deployed.
- Analyze workforce data to proactively identify emerging risks.
- Evaluate site-specific metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Leverage technology to improve worker accountability, training compliance, and site access management.
Qualifications
Core qualifications include:
- Willingness to participate in pre-employment screening process (drug screen and background checks)
- Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience with a bachelor's degree, or 8 years of equivalent construction safety experience.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926).
- Experience managing safety programs on commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or large-scale construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience supporting high-risk construction activities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital safety management platforms.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required.
Preferred
- Data center construction experience.
- Mission-critical facility experience.
- Experience supporting self-perform construction operations.
- Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST).
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- OSHA 500 Trainer Certification.

Physical & Travel Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in active construction environments.
- Frequent walking across large construction sites.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas.
- Ability to navigate uneven terrain and changing site conditions.
- Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed.
Travel Requirements:
- Limited travel may be required for training, corporate meetings, and project support activities.
- Ability to maintain consistent on-site presence throughout project duration.

Additional Information
The base pay for this position ranges from $130,000 - $160,000 per year. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience.
