JOB SUMMARY: 

The Safety Manager plays a critical role on the construction jobsite by promoting and maintaining a strong “Safe Thinking” culture. This position is responsible for leading and supporting all site-specific safety initiatives, ensuring that safety is fully integrated into daily operations. Key duties include conducting regular jobsite safety audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, and completing all necessary internal and external reports. By actively planning, monitoring, and improving safe work practices, the Safety Manager helps create a jobsite environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and a shared commitment to safety.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Create and lead training to individuals and groups on a variety of risk management subjects in both office and field settings. 
  • Provide on-the-spot job site training to superintendents, subcontractors, and field teams as needed. 
  • Attend preconstruction meetings and other project meetings as required. 
  • Lead weekly/monthly safety portion of preconstruction and other operation meetings throughout the construction process. 
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of assigned projects and publish reports for internal improvement and compliance. 
  • Work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and Subcontractors to ensure compliance and best practices with various safety policies. 
  • Visit and serve as an ongoing point of contact to job sites nationwide.
  • Conduct formal investigations into work-related incidents to determine the cause and corrective actions. 
  • Maintain a current knowledge base of Local, State, and Federal safety and health regulations with specific requirements.

WORK SCHEDULE: Varied, full-time schedule with hours outside of regular “business hours” based on business needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Requires being able to respond to problem situations in a timely manner at all hours of the day and night. 
  • Ability to lead teams to accomplish safe, quality and on-time completion of installation projects. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all departments within the company. 
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines. 
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges. 
  • Ability to work in dynamic and changing environments. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years' of Safety and Health Experience is preferred.
  • Prior Construction Experience is required.
  • Forklift and MEWP (aerial lifts) instructor training is a plus.
  • BS in Occupational Health and Safety or closely related field or equivalent in years of experience.
  • STS, CHST, CSP or similar certification(s) is preferred.
  • OSHA 500/510 certification a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
