Job Summary**
The Safety Manager for Primoris Energy Services in Independence, MO, is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant regulations for energy construction projects.
Job Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain the company's safety management system, policies, and procedures in accordance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
* Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of job sites, equipment, and work practices to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
* Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
* Lead and facilitate safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation, ongoing education, and specialized safety topics.
* Monitor and enforce compliance with company safety rules and procedures among all employees and subcontractors.
* Develop and manage emergency response plans, including fire prevention, disaster preparedness, and medical emergencies.
* Maintain accurate and detailed safety records, including incident reports, training logs, and inspection results.
* Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to integrate safety into all aspects of project planning and execution.
* Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging safety technologies.
* Prepare and present regular safety performance reports to management.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in safety management, preferably within the energy, construction, or heavy industrial sectors.
* OSHA 30-hour certification for Construction or General Industry required.
* Professional safety certification (e.g., CSP, CHST, ASP) highly preferred.
* In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910 and 1926), DOT regulations, and other relevant environmental and safety standards.
* Proven experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
* Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard control principles.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence employees at all levels.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Ability to travel to various project sites as needed.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
