Horse Technologies is part of Horse Powertrain Limited – an independent new powertrain solutions business, with over 125 years of heritage from Renault and Geely. We develop and produce world-class hybrid and combustion engines and transmissions to move our industry forward, offering many different paths to net zero.
This role is employed by Horse Technologies Division and is based in Valladolid , with occasional travel possible to Horse Powertrain’s other sites.

What you will do
Define and maintain the Functional Safety Plan aligned with ISO 26262
Manage safety documentation like Safety Case, DIA, and DDMRS
Identify, prioritize, and resolve customer adverse events (EIC) and URP
Define and validate degraded modes, safety tests, and compliance matrix
Provide safety approvals and recommendations at key project milestones
Coordinate safety activities with internal teams, customers, and suppliers
What we’re looking for
Master’s degree in Automotive, Electrical, Systems, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering
ISO 26262 certification (TÜV, Exida, or equivalent)
4–8 years experience in functional safety roles/projects
Experience leading ISO 26262 audits and cross-functional teams
Knowledge of ASPICE and quality processes
Languages: Spanish & English required, French is a plus

Skills Required
- Master's degree in Automotive, Electrical/Electronic, Systems, Mechatronics, or Computer Science (automotive/embedded focus)
- ISO 26262 Functional Safety Certification (e.g., TÜV, Exida)
- 4-8 years experience in functional safety projects
- Proven experience leading ISO 26262 audits and assessments and managing cross-functional teams and suppliers
- Familiarity with ASPICE and quality management systems
- Competence in risk analysis methods: HARA, ASIL determination, FMEA, FTA
- Knowledge of requirements management and safety analysis tools (DOORS, Polarion)
- Experience with internal combustion engines and hybrid powertrains
- Knowledge of embedded software architecture
- Fluent Spanish and English
- French language skills
