Safety Lead
Who we are looking for:
Atkore, a recipient of a Great Place to Work© certification and a Top Workplaces USA award, is searching for a Safety Lead to be based out of our Kokomo, IN facility. Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, this person will be responsible for assisting in training employees on safety policies and practices, conducting regular inspections, generating health and safety assessment reports, and supporting compliance for all EHS guidelines and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. Additional experience in environmental, health, and safety preferred.
What you’ll do:
The Safety Lead’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform incident investigations and assist in corrective actions.
- Conduct job hazard analysis and recommend preventative/corrective action where EH&S hazards exist.
- Monthly Safety Cycle Training & Audit of Waste Area.
- Participate in and lead team-based safety observations.
- Interact with all departments to assist with EH&S issues.
- Perform administrative duties for the EHS department.
- Support implementation of various safety policies and programs.
- Conduct inspections and identify hazards and potential EHS violations.
- Assist with providing solutions and intervention strategies for health and safety hazards
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum of 3-5years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. Additional experience in environmental, health, and safety preferred.
- Knowledge of or willing to learn Federal/State Regulatory Requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA, IDEM, etc.).
- Discretion and flexibility.
- Computer skills include Word, Power Point, Excel.
- Very good organization and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
- Consistently work under pressure and simultaneously prioritize multiple projects.
Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Use Enablon software platform to manage EHS data.
- Lead team-based safety observations.
- Conduct periodic inspections for lockout program.
- Complete job hazard analyses.
- Use Enablon software to upload documents, enter data and maintain EHS Data.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $27.97 to $34.18. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
