Our summer internships provide ambitious undergraduates the chance to gain real world experience in their field of study. We provide challenging, professional experience with a global corporation, where you learn from and work alongside Donaldson employees. This internship takes place onsite at Stevens Point, WI location.
Primary responsibilities: A safety intern will work with the EHS department and other site leaders to:
- Mentor employees on safe behaviors.
- Investigate problems or failures associated with employee concerns or injuries; develop and implement corrective actions.
- Review and verify accuracy of existing procedures.
- Develop and implement supporting EHS framework documentation.
- Conduct workstation risk assessments.
Technical Competencies:
- Project Management
- Strong Problem-Solving skills required.
- Data Analysis
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program pursuing a bachelor’s degree program in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, EHS or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interpersonal skills (relationship building, teamwork, interpersonal insight, conflict resolution).
- Communication (verbal communication, listening, written communication).
- Judgment and thinking (strategic thinking, original thinking, decision making, problem solving, awareness).
- Performance skills (accuracy with detail, planning and organizing, efficiency).
- Personal characteristics (motivation/commitment, flexibility, results orientation).
- Hazard Recognition, Ergonomics a plus.
