Main Responsibilities

  • Primary person responsible for implementing effective environmental programs and assuring compliance in a small or medium unit or management of one or more environmental programs in a large or very large unit under the direction of a more senior environmental professional. Assists a more senior environmental professional in development of programs in order to comply with regulatory and Company standards. As appropriate, interacts with external agencies as the agent of the unit in both a strategic and tactical role. (Example of a small/lesser complex process would be a weld, assembly or a simple paint system with no waste treatment. Span of influence is small, but has sole responsibility for a single function in a less complex unit).


What skill you need:

  • 5 or more years of experience in Environmental, Health or Safety in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of safety management systems, (ISO 45001 or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of environmental permitting
  • Knowledge of ISO14001 management system.
  • Understanding of ergonomic principles.
  • Investigate all kinds of incidents and reports and provide expert advice to more senior colleagues. Minimize risk exposures and ensure adherence with regulatory standards by working with all internal functions to make sure compliance programs are properly implemented.
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Deliver audit assignments in nominated client areas. Develop individual audit plans and detailed scope, deliver the fieldwork, report findings and opinions, agree on corrective actions with auditees, and refer serious or contentious issues to the lead auditor.
  • Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy.
  • Help others get the most out of internal communications systems by offering support and advice.
  • Support collection of business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, and workflow analysis, to express requirements clearly and succinctly.
  • Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
  • Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Education
Bachelors Degree in Science, Engineering/Technology, or Environmental Occupational Health and Safety discipline.
