Safety Coordinator

Description

The Safety Coordinator works closely with the HR Manager to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct new hire safety orientation and ongoing refresher training, including both classroom and hands-on instruction including the safe operation of company equipment
• Investigate all workplace accidents and injuries.
• Administer workers' compensation claims.
• Maintain OSHA injury and illness records and prepare required regulatory reports in accordance with OSHA requirements.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Oversee the drive cam program by reviewing events and monitoring trends to improve driver performance.
• Conduct periodic workplace safety inspections.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of safety policies, procedures, and training materials.
• Maintain training records, certifications, safety documentation, and regulatory files.
• Coordinate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and company safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in occupational safety, safety training, risk management, or a related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and recordkeeping requirements 
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications 

Starting pay: $65,000 per year.  Higher starting rates may be considered based on relevant experience, certifications and qualifications.
