Job Summary**
The Safety Coordinator I ensures adherence to safety policies and regulations on Primoris Energy Services - Nexus project sites, contributing to a safe and healthy work environment.
Job Responsibilities**
* Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of project sites, equipment, and work practices to identify and mitigate hazards.
* Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans, procedures, and training programs.
* Investigate minor incidents, near misses, and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
* Provide safety orientation and training to new employees and ongoing safety briefings to existing staff.
* Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.
* Collaborate with project management, supervisors, and employees to promote a proactive safety culture.
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT).
* Assist in the procurement and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Respond to safety concerns and inquiries from employees and escalate as necessary.
* Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Qualifications**
* High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferred.
* 0-2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the energy, construction, or industrial sector.
* Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
* Basic understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment principles.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and interact with diverse teams.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites as needed.
* OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification is a plus.
* First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
