Chemours is seeking a Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant- Safety to join our growing Titanium Technologies team. This position will be available at the Delisle, MS site in Pass Christian, MS and report directly to the Environmental Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager.

The Safety Consultant provides technical leadership and hands-on support to drive workplace safety and process safety performance within high-hazard chemical operations. This role partners with site personnel, leadership, and regulatory agencies to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety management systems. The consultant plays a key role in fostering a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, technical problem solving, training, improvement and implementation support for safety at high hazard chemical operations
  • Interface with all site employees, corporate resources, regulatory agencies, unit operations, and be an active member of the site extended leadership team
  • Work to improve systems, procedures, processes, individual capability, and ownership of safety and process safety management
  • Develop systems to implement and manage safety programs across the site
  • Conduct and support 1st and 2nd party workplace safety and PSM audits
  • Participate in and facilitate incident investigations as required
  • Serve as subject matter expert and site standard owner for Lock, Tag, and Try, Confined Space Entry, Line and Equipment Break, Fall Protection, Ladder and Scaffold Safety as well as other workplace safety elements.
  • Review regulatory briefs when related to EHS and anticipate impact
  • Serve as Process Safety Management Element Lead for Safe Work Practices
  • Active participant of Site Safety Committee

The following is required for this role:

  • 5+ years of work experience in a safety related field Or Bachelor’s degree in an EHS (i.e. Safety Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, etc.) or engineering discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA General Industry, Recordkeeping, and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements. Candidate must possess the ability to interpret regulatory requirements, assess compliance risks, develop compliant safety systems, and serve as a technical resource for PSM.
  • Knowledge of high hazard chemical or process safety management regulated facilities
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft office i.e. spreadsheets, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence, build credibility, and drive safety excellence across all levels of the organization without direct supervisory authority.

The following is preferred for this role:

  • 5+ years high hazard chemical process experience
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification or being able to achieve within 2 years of start date

Pay Range (in local currency):

$97,843.00 - $152,880.00

Annual Bonus Target:

Skills Required
