Turner Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support heavy civil, construction, road building, and mining project sites. This field‑based role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing hands‑on safety leadership across multiple project locations.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver field‑level safety orientations and lead safety meetings
- Promote and model safe work behaviors and best practices
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
- Support incident and near‑miss investigations
- Monitor compliance with Turner Staffing Group’s Safe Work Practices and PPE policies
- Collaborate with workers, supervisors, and management to identify and mitigate hazards
- Track safety trends and recommend continuous improvements
- Travel to multiple project sites as required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in heavy civil, construction, or mining environments
- Strong knowledge of provincial OH&S regulations
- MSHA Part 48 certification or ability to obtain
- Alcohol and Drug Screening (pre‑employment)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work 12‑hour rotational day/night shifts
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
- High school diploma required; post‑secondary education an asset
Skills Required
