We are seeking a highly experienced S/4HANA Conversion Expert with deep SAP FICO techno-functional expertise to lead and support a complex ECC to S/4HANA migration within a large retail enterprise. This role requires hands-on experience in end-to-end system conversions, financial data migration, simplification item analysis, and collaboration with technical, business, and architectural teams.

The ideal candidate has successfully delivered S/4HANA system conversions, understands the intricacies of Finance data in high-volume retail environments, and is familiar with complex integrations and strict downtime constraints, including Near-Zero-Downtime (NZDT) scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and resolve pre-conversion inconsistencies in General Ledger, Asset Accounting, and Material Ledger.

• Evaluate and remediate Simplification Items, focusing on Finance and retail-specific processes.

• Translate complex business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.

• Troubleshoot Finance-related issues during conversion cycles, including Sandbox, Development, Dress Rehearsals, and Mock Conversions.

• Collaborate closely with ABAP, Basis, and Data Migration teams to resolve conversion errors, performance issues, and custom code adaptations.

• Work across multiple retail systems, including POS, OMS, Merchandising, eCommerce, Warehouse/Logistics, and external supplier integrations.

• Assess ECC system integrations affected by the S/4HANA conversion and drive interface remediation and redesign aligned with S/4HANA architecture and best practices.

• Define and execute a comprehensive conversion test strategy, including unit testing, E2E testing, finance reconciliation, and cutover mock cycles.

• Conduct data reconciliation, financial statement validation, and root-cause analysis of discrepancies.

• Lead finance-specific cutover activities and ensure alignment with the overall program timeline.

• Participate in Design Advisory, Data Migration Boards, and Conversion Working Groups.

• Provide expert guidance to business stakeholders, functional analysts, and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• Produce high-quality documentation, including conversion designs, data maps, troubleshooting logs, reconciliation reports, post-migration controls, and SOPs.

• Proven hands-on experience in SAP ECC to S/4HANA conversions.

• Deep SAP FICO techno-functional expertise, including General Ledger, Asset Accounting, and Material Ledger.

• Strong understanding of retail business processes and high-volume transactional systems.

• Experience with Near-Zero-Downtime (NZDT) or minimal downtime migration strategies.

• Proficiency in identifying and remediating Simplification Items.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.

• Experience in data reconciliation, cutover planning, and testing in migration projects.

Preferred:

• Experience with SAP Finance integrations across retail ecosystems.

• Prior exposure to SAP Data Migration tools (LTMC, LSMW, or custom tools).

• Understanding of ABAP custom code adaptations in S/4HANA.
