- Senior Accountant, Capital and Leases - GBS

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior
Accountant, Capital & Leases, GBS to join the company’s dynamic
finance team. The goal of this position is to run standardized fixed asset and lease
accounting services to ensure correct valuation and reconciled balances and
enable reliable period-end close and financial reporting. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, Consolidations &
Reporting, GBS and based in the Budapest Administration Center in Hungary, this
pivotal role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative

compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review capital expenditure transactions and lease agreements to
ensure correct accounting treatment
- Capitalize fixed assets and maintain accurate asset master data and
depreciation parameters
- Execute depreciation and amortization runs and post related
accounting entries
- Monitor changes in fixed asset values and ensure proper accounting
treatment
- Process asset transfers, retirements and disposals including
gain/loss calculation and approvals
- Coordinate with the business to ensure all new lease agreements are
reviewed for the correct accounting treatment.
- Ensure all leases requiring capitalization have accurate supporting
leases schedules (compliant with ASC 842 under US GAAP)
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure lease expense reconciles
to actual lease payments.
- Reconcile fixed asset and lease accounting subledger balances to
the General Ledger and resolve reconciliation differences
- Execute fixed asset and lease period-end close activities including
cut-off checks and rollforward preparation
- Prepare necessary disclosures for all financial reporting
requirements, particularly for US GAAP consolidated financial statements
- Ensure
compliance with group accounting policies, consolidation standards and
internal control requirements
- Support external
audits by providing relevant documentation, evidence and clarification on audit
requests
Qualifications and experience:
- Several
years of professional experience (typically 3–5 years) in relevant
functions (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Audit,
Operations) with solid operational capability
- Chartered
Accountant or equivalent preferred
- No
leadership responsibilities
- Basic
awareness of industry fundamentals in the specialty chemicals sector;
basic exposure and understanding of industry‑specific processes, markets,
or regulations
- Basic
exposure to international contexts (e.g., occasional interaction with
global colleagues or customers); no international assignments or stays
abroad

on asset and inventory accounting
- Optimizes
workflows through effective use of digital solutions and supports digital
adoption using IT competencies
- Proficiency
in MS Office Applications, SAP S/4 HANA, Blackline preferred

Skills Required
- 3-5 years professional experience in finance/accounting/controlling/tax/audit/operations
- Experience with fixed asset and lease accounting, including ASC 842 and US GAAP disclosures
- Ability to perform depreciation, capitalizations, transfers, retirements, reconciliations and period-end close activities
- Chartered Accountant or equivalent
- Basic awareness of specialty chemicals industry fundamentals
- Basic exposure to international contexts and interaction with global colleagues
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications
- Experience with SAP S/4 HANA
- Experience with BlackLine
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and analytical skills
