PermanentWhat you'll be doing:
As an RTR Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and compliant Record-to-Report activities across Avon’s Western Europe markets. You will be responsible for managing fixed asset and lease accounting processes, ensuring the integrity of financial records, maintaining compliance with IFRS standards, and supporting timely month-end reporting. Working within the RTR Centre of Excellence, you will collaborate with colleagues across Finance, Shared Services, Internal Controls, and Audit teams to ensure high-quality reporting, strong governance, and continuous process improvement in a dynamic international environment.Key responsibilities:
- Maintaining accurate fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, transfers, and asset register updates
- Running monthly depreciation processes and ensuring fixed asset accounting is completed accurately and on time
- Preparing monthly fixed asset movement schedules and investigating any discrepancies or exceptions
- Managing lease accounting activities in accordance with IFRS 16 requirements
- Maintaining lease schedules and calculating right-of-use asset and lease liability accounting entries
- Processing lease modifications, renewals, and terminations, ensuring accounting records remain accurate and up to date
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations related to fixed assets and leasing activities
- Processing bank statements in the ERP system and reconciling bank accounts to the General Ledger for assigned accounts
- Posting month-end journals, including depreciation, lease interest, and prepayment entries
- Supporting month-end close activities and ensuring reporting deadlines are met
- Preparing financial analysis and commentary for fixed asset and leasing-related profit and loss and balance sheet accounts
- Executing and documenting assigned internal controls in line with company policies and compliance requirements
- Supporting internal and external audit activities by providing documentation and responding to queries
- Ensuring compliance with global and local accounting policies, procedures, and standard operating practices
- Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally within a multinational organisation or shared services environment
- Experience in Record-to-Report accounting processes
- Experience in fixed asset accounting and lease accounting under IFRS 16 is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
- Experience using ERP and accounting systems, ideally JDE/E1 or a similar platform
- Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close activities
- Ability to analyse financial information and investigate discrepancies effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities within strict deadlines
- Advanced English language skills, both written and spoken
- Proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
- High learning agility and willingness to develop new skills and expertise
- Ability to maintain high-quality performance in a fast-paced and evolving environment

Skills Required
