About the Role
The Royalty Analyst will process royalty calculations in accordance with procedures and timetables as directed by the Royalty Director. The Royalty Analyst will also generate statements, reports and analyses, as directed, assist with responding to information requests from Information Providers and internal management, and prepare accruals and forecasts for review by the Royalty Director. Participate in routine royalty reporting and special projects. You will be based in our Princeton, New Jersey office reporting to the Royalty Director.
You Will:
- Calculate royalties in accordance with defined procedures and timetables, ensuring the controls are designed to verify and analyze the accuracy, validity and completeness of all inputs and outputs.
- Assist with royalty accruals and variance analysis for month end closing, including GM's, variable royalties and currency effect.
- Reconcile accrued royalty balance to the general ledger.
- Review and improve internal controls where applicable.
- Participate in financial modeling for new royalty calculation scenarios based on future changes to business.
- Assist with the royalty budget and forecasts. In addition provide guidance and analysis to management regarding these processes.
- Produce monthly and one time reports and analyses of royalties paid/payable and IP performance for distribution to internal management and Publisher Relations.
- Provide analytical support to the Publisher Relations department and internal management as directed by the Royalty Director.
- Participate in the consolidation process of financial statements, accrual and forecast.
- Liaise with technical lead to develop process for automated financial reporting.
- Monitor time series variances in usage, revenue and royalty payments.
- Liaise with Publisher Relations to verify any contractual changes to the payment terms.
- Review and enhance accounting processes and general ledger reporting capabilities including documenting, maintaining and streamlining accounting procedures.
- Implement and test changes done to royalty processes to incorporate current business needs.
- Assist with changes sent by Publishers in Banking for Publishers. Work with AP to implement the changes and to get necessary tax documents for withholding tax.
You Have:
- 1-3 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Excel macros is desired.
- Excellent organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent Analytical Logical thinking and problem solving ability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment utilizing team-oriented interpersonal skills in order to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and deal with multiple changing priorities.

Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000
