Manufacturing Process Engineer – Rotational Program

Join our dynamic team and leverage your manufacturing and project management skills while becoming an associate owner of our innovative company! In this role, you’ll participate in 6-month rotations to explore different areas of the business, gaining a comprehensive understanding of our operations. You’ll ensure the efficient manufacturing of parts to support daily production, utilizing a variety of machinery and processes, including multi-axis CNC machines, manual and automated pressing/assembly equipment, laser marking and packaging equipment, and various hand tools for bench-top assembly. You’ll also lead process improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma practices to enhance quality, reduce costs, improve safety, and increase earnings for our 100% Associate-owned organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define work methods for specific production areas consisting of several work cells. Identify and lead projects to improve product flow through these cells.

  • Develop and integrate safety procedures (lockout, job safety analysis, personal protective equipment, machine guarding, and ergonomics) into production processes.

  • Provide daily technical support to production teams, including training and support in programming, operation, and maintenance of all equipment in the work area.

  • Ensure production processes operate within quality metric targets. Identify trends in quality performance, execute root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans.

  • Design tooling, fixtures, and workstations essential for new product introduction to production cells.

  • Participate in the investigation and purchase of new equipment and tooling. Provide input into the equipment/process technology roadmap and develop maintenance schedules for all equipment within assigned work cells.

  • Create and maintain all documents used to control the manufacturing process, including Engineering Changes, routing, bills of material, standard work in each cell, value stream maps, and quality data collection sheets.

Required knowledge, skills, education, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred)

  • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a passion for getting to the root cause of issues

  • Proactive and enthusiastic about implementing new technology and continuous improvement

  • Independently motivated and a collaborative team player

  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing, statistical analysis (Minitab), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), SolidWorks, value stream mapping (VSM), design for manufacturability (DFM), process failure mode effects analysis (pFMEA), and structured problem solving.

Preferred Experience that differentiates you:

  • New product introduction experience

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

  • Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting

  • Experience working with automated assembly equipment

  • Power Apps experience

This is the base pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
