Job Summary:

The Webster Bank Rotational Program is an 18 month program designed to provide participants with progressively challenging work assignments in Enterprise Data Science department/COO vertical. Program participants will acquire business unit and organizational knowledge, gain exposure to senior leadership, have access to a formal mentor, and accelerate their development at Webster through structured learning programs.

Rotational Analyst – Enterprise Data Science

Location: Hybrid

Rotational locations include: Stamford, CT, New York

This posting is for the Non-Commercial track of the Webster Banking Rotational Program which consists of rotations in the areas of Enterprise Data Science.

Assignments Include:

1. Data Analytics and Reporting: Analyze customer data to identify trends and insights that can drive bank strategies and product development.

2. Data Engineering and Infrastructure: Collaborate on designing and building scalable data pipelines to support data ingestion for analytics and models. Assist in productionizing various models.

3. Customer Insights and Personalization: Utilize Machine Learning and AI techniques to segment customer data and provide insights into customer behaviors and preferences.
 

This structure allows the analyst to gain a broad understanding of data science applications within a banking context while developing valuable skills and insights across different functional areas.

 

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements for Rotational:

  • Recent bachelor’s degree graduate from an accredited college or university in a related field with a desired GPA of 3.75 or higher.

  • Interested in the banking and financial services industry and/or want to develop skills needed in Webster’s Enterprise Data Science line of business which supports Consumer Bank, Commercial bank, Product, etc.

  • Experience using computer languages (Python, SQL) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets, a bonus if has knowledge of cloud-based Snowflake, AWS SageMaker and Power BI

  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision trees, neural networks, graph ML, OCR, sentiment analysis, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.

  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts and experience with applications.

  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques. Meticulous attention to detail.

  • A motivated self-starter and knowledge seeker.

  • Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Must be a flexible, independent team player with a positive attitude and willingness to step-in and provide support as needed.

  • Effectively engage and communicate with colleagues while working remotely.               

  • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks.  

  • Day to day tasks may include performing testing, controls, and procedures on special projects.

  • Optional: A letter of recommendation from a professor or supervisor and/or an essay of approximately 500 words describing your career ambitions and why you are interested in this program.

The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000USD to $80,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
