As a Ropes Specialist, you will be responsible for growing sales and ensuring an excellent customer experience, with a special focus on ropes and related products and services. You will build strong and sustainable relationships with customers, acting as a trustworthy advisor who delivers outstanding customer service at every touchpoint. As the customer's key point of contact for all ropes-related inquiries, you will add value by advising them on what ropes and related products and services to buy, why, when, and where.
You will drive sales growth through proactive follow-up on quotes, increasing the likelihood of closing deals, as well as identifying and executing up-selling and cross-selling opportunities. In addition, you will identify and act on leads and new business opportunities to continuously expand the customer base and revenue.
The position reports to the Head of Ropes Specialists and requires close cooperation within the Specialist Centre as well as with Sales, Sales Advisors, Order Processing Centres, Operations, Credit, and Pricing teams.
Who are we looking for:
The ideal candidate holds relevant education and/or work experience, paired with a genuine interest or experience in the shipping industry and marine products. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for this role.
We are looking for a customer-focused professional with solid commercial understanding and proven sales skills, including strong telephone sales skills, who is able to turn opportunities into real sales growth. Excellent communication and networking skills are key, as you will be building strong relationships with both customers and colleagues on a daily basis.
You bring a growth mindset and a "Can Do" attitude, adapt quickly to change, and are enthusiastic about continuous learning and sharing knowledge within the team. Strong analytical skills, the ability to act on data-driven insights, and confidence in using digital tools are equally important.
