Remote – This is a home based, virtual position that operates Monday -Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm EST. Vaya Partners welcomes applications from NC, SC, GA, TN, VA, MD, and FL.


GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB                         

This position is specifically to support RHTP (Rural Health Transformation Program).

The RHTP ETL Developer works independently, and collaboratively, to elicit requirements and create specifications. They then design, architect, and implement complex ETL/ELT solutions using Azure data services, Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory pipelines, Data Lakehouse architecture, Dataverse integrations, SQL-based transformations, and cloud-based data orchestration.

The individual in this position interfaces with various functional teams as required to support the solution delivery. They proactively identify needs or issues, develop strategies, and propose/implement technical and process solutions. They interpret internal or external business issues and recommend best practices. They adapt precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches.

Note: This position might require access to and use of confidential healthcare information or protected health information (PHI) as described in laws addressing patient confidentiality, including, but not limited to, the federal HIPAA law, the Confidentiality of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Patient Records law, 42 CFR Part 2, and various state laws. As such, the individual who filled this position shall be required to be trained in such laws and shall be required to observe those laws in his/her capacity as an employee of Vaya Partners. The individual filling this position shall also sign a confidentiality statement as an employee of Vaya Partners.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

ETL Development: This position is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing ETL/ELT solutions to enable the analysis of data that supports strategic initiatives and ongoing business requirements. This includes building Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric pipelines, integrating Dataverse and source system data, developing Lakehouse-based ingestion and transformation patterns, and supporting curated datasets for analytics and reporting. This position is expected to proactively approach business units and create the best solution to address business needs and current infrastructure. 

Planning, Design, and Implementation: This position will perform requirements analysis, solution design, development, and implementation of end-user requested data solutions. As the ETL Developer, this position will work to further define business requirements and provide specifications for end user sign off prior to development. This position will design pipeline architecture, data mappings, transformation logic, data validation rules, scheduling, monitoring, and deployment approaches for Azure, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory, Lakehouse, and related enterprise data platform solutions. This position will work with other development team members to coordinate User Acceptance Testing, obtain end user satisfaction with developed product, and implement the final solution.

Administration and Documentation: This position shall demonstrate day-to-day adherence with change control procedures and practices and write basic technical documentation. This position will monitor the health, performance, reliability, and data quality of supported ETL/ELT processes, including Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric pipelines, Lakehouse loads, and Dataverse integrations. This position will communicate potential service problems by identifying patterns occurring across separate solutions and documenting remediation steps, operational procedures, source-to-target mappings, and support processes.

Professional Development: This position is responsible for learning and improving upon the skills necessary to stay competitive in the field and coincide with the advances in technology. This position will participate in conferences, seminars, certification programs, etc. as applicable to ensure continued skill development and technical competency. 

Development and Execution of Industry Security Standards: This position is responsible for the development and execution of industry security standards as they relate to Integrations development and as supported by adopted policy. This position should follow industry standards and best practices to ensure the security of information, communications, data, etc. when developing solutions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

•    Hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting ETL/ELT solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), including data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, scheduling, monitoring, error handling, and performance optimization.

•    Experience integrating Microsoft Dataverse, enterprise applications, databases, APIs, and external data sources across cloud and on-premises environments to support operational and analytical data needs.

•    Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database development, data integration, performance tuning, and data warehousing solutions.

•    Expert-level proficiency in SQL and T-SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, views, data modeling, and query optimization.

•    Strong knowledge of data engineering best practices, including metadata-driven processing, incremental loading, data quality management, security, resiliency, documentation, version control, and CI/CD automation.

•    Experience with source control and DevOps tools, including Git and automated deployment frameworks.

•    Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and related development tools.

•    Experience with Microsoft Power Apps and other Power Platform technologies.

•    Experience with data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and modern cloud-based analytics platforms.

•    Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements, data mappings, specifications, and solution designs.

•    Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex data, integration, and performance issues.

•    Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•    Experience handling and protecting sensitive data, including Protected Health Information (PHI), in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.

•    Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, and Office applications.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A High School Diploma is required, however a Bachelor's Degree in the fields of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related business fields is preferred. 

• Five (5) to seven (7) years of development experience are required for incumbents with a computer industry related degree. 

• Five (5) to seven (7) years of development experience if specifically within in a healthcare or insurance related environment may be acceptable with a bachelor's degree in any field of study.

• Degrees other than the above listed bachelor's degrees can be accepted if there is significant work experience in a field related to the duties of this position.


Licensure/Certification Required:

• A Microsoft certification in Azure, Fabric, SQL Server, Data Engineering, or related technologies is not required, but preferred. 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparation and analysis of documents; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading. Physical activity in this position includes crouching, reaching, walking, talking, hearing and repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers. Sedentary work with lifting requirements up to 10 pounds, sitting for extended periods of time. Mental concentration is required in all aspects of work.

 

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:  The person in this position must live in NC, SC, GA, TN, VA, MD, or FL for this role.

 

SALARY: Depending on qualifications & experience of candidate. This position is Exempt and is eligible for overtime compensation.
