Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Applications Engineer to join our team supporting the UK, Ireland & North East Europe Region for our Robotics Division, this role will work on a hybrid base between your home base and our Telford Office, but will be expected to provide coverage to the whole of the UK & Ireland and as well as the North East Europe region when required. The main responsibilities for this role will involve:
- Providing help and assistance to our Customers in the use, programming and integration of our robots both remotely and on-site.
- Supporting our Customers and Sales Team on all technical aspects of product range either remotely or on-site.
- Proposing and/or validating automation concepts and solutions adapted to our robot using different technologies such as tooling, vision, conveyor tracking and safety as examples.
- Assessing feasibility of robotic proposals using simulation software including but not limited to cycle time analysis and payload verification.
- Testing ‘Proof of Principles’ by using the suite of demonstration robots.
- Promoting the full range of robots and available software applications.
- Becoming a technical lead in the specification and utilization of the robotics division product range
- Supporting Exhibitions as a specialist.
- Upskilling other divisional members as required
- Supporting the Training Manager in delivery of customer training as required
It is essential that candidates have a:
- BTEC Higher Level/Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar is desirable but proven experience will also be considered
- High-level programming knowledge and experience, preferably with robots.
- Previous experience of working with:
- 3D CAD Packages
- 4- & 6-axis automation
- Electrical installations
- PLC’s and fieldbus technologies
- Ability to analyse both Company and Customer drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
- Strong time management skills including being able to work independently and to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate at all levels.
- A full UK driving licence.
We would also look for Candidates to have good clear communication skills and be comfortable liaising with all levels whilst being able to work with minimal supervision.
