At our Limerick site, we manufacture integrated circuits used across the electronics spectrum—from industrial systems to consumer devices.

Role Overview:

This position is based in our Class 10 cleanroom wafer fabrication facility, where you will work with advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment and robotic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planned and unplanned tool repair and maintenance.
  • Support root cause troubleshooting and fault finding to component level.
  • Contribute to ongoing tool development and enhancement, including robotic automation improvements.
  • Drive improvement projects independently and as part of a team.
  • Collaborate with mentors on hands-on investigations and hardware resolutions.
  • Participate in presentations on completed work, learnings, and recommendations.
  • Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams using a variety of tools and test equipment.
  • Communicate effectively and present issues and solutions confidently.
  • Work well in a diverse team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Robotics & Automation Focus:

You will gain exposure to robotic wafer handling systems, automated material transfer platforms, and precision robotics integrated into semiconductor tools. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting in calibration and maintenance of robotic arms and automated handlers.
  • Supporting troubleshooting of robotic motion control systems and sensors.
  • Learning about robotic integration with high-vacuum and pneumatic systems.
  • Participating in projects to optimize robotic throughput and reliability.
Technology Exposure:

Our tools incorporate advanced technologies such as electronics, high vacuum systems, pneumatics, and robotics. Some of the individual toolsets onsite include:

  • Applied Materials Implanters & Deposition Platforms
  • Akrion Wet Benches
  • Aviza Furnaces
  • TEL Tracks
  • Nikon Steppers
  • LAM Etchers
  • Novellus Deposition Platforms
  • Semitool Wet Chemistry Platforms
Additional Information:
  • This is a rotating shift-based role with a competitive shift premium.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degrees (NFQ Level 7) or Honours Bachelor’s degrees (NFQ Level 8). Graduated in the last two years.

  • Experience: Understanding of regulated environment or an Equipment Maintenance role within manufacturing industry. Experience in hand tool application would be an advantage.

  • Capable of demonstrating analytical troubleshooting methods (Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving, 5-why), and First Time Right repair skills.

  • Able to follow preventative maintenance and Standard Work procedures.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Must be open to work a 5-cycle shift pattern
