We’re looking for an experienced Robotic Software Engineer ( C++ ) (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies and develop unmanned ground vehicles for both governmental and civilian applications.
In this role, you will program and integrate sensor, actuator, and electronic systems, ensuring the secure and efficient operation of our robotic platforms. This position is ideal for those passionate about advancing robotics and applying software skills to solve real-world challenges in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

In this role, you’ll:
- Program and integrate software for sensor and actuator systems in robotics applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and refine integrated robotic solutions
- Implement and maintain secure communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, and wireless) to support seamless device interoperability
- Test and validate hardware-software integrations, ensuring high reliability, security, and adherence to operational standards
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for both on-site and remote issues, addressing system challenges promptly
- Document technical processes and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and support collaboration
Your Profile
- Background in programming for sensors and actuators, with knowledge of electronic and computing components
- Proficiency in C++ and experience with robotic software integration, preferably with Robot Operating System (ROS)
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, serial) and networking standards such as TCP/IP
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure software practices, ideally applied in robotics or IoT environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset, capable of working both independently and within agile teams
- Experience in GUI development for robotics control and monitoring interfaces is beneficial
- Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electronics, or a related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
- Proficiency in English; and German is a plus
Please note that we are looking for support in the Munich office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
