General Summary:
The Roaming Testing Engineer I is responsible for performing IREG testing (CARRIER_SHORT) based on GSM testing standards. Primarily focusing on the network set-up and testing of the roaming partners to implement new roaming agreements; using the established IREG testing methodology by participating in, and supporting all required activities to ensure all process controls are adhered to and completed in a timely manner.

Some of What You'll Do

Duties and Responsibilities: 

100% Support 
o    Assist in the development and maintenance of IREG testing procedures and adhere to all business processes and GSM standards
o    Provide switching & signaling support for Roaming Partner set up 
o    Perform switch/network translations for the establishment of roaming services 
o    Schedule and perform all IREG testing for any new roaming partners required by CARRIER_SHORT
o    Troubleshoot and evaluate SS7 messages when roaming services are failing
o    Troubleshoot switching, SGSN/GGSN, and SMSC as it relates to roaming
o    Manage test plan and schedule

Job Requirements:

o    Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a STEM field, or equivalent work experience
o    2+ years' experience working in a IREG testing environment preferred 
o    2+ years' experience in areas of technical customer support, problem management and roaming implementation 
o    Formal software testing methodologies
o    Integration testing
o    Conformance testing
o    Module and Functional testing
o    Document inspections & reviews
o    Strong troubleshooting and error analysis skills
o    Strong understanding of GSM standards and testing methods

o    Exceptional customer service skills and demeanor, along with the innovative ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical clients.
o    Excellent analytical, multitasking, and communication skills (both verbal and written)

Travel: 30%
o    May be at client location for 2-4 weeks at a time
o    Must have valid passport to travel

Skills Required

  • Valid passport and willingness to travel up to 30% (2-4 week client visits)

  • Project management skills: scheduling, status updates, time reporting, and task estimation
