In this position, the candidate will:
- Prepare preliminary design plans, documents, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Conduct analyses and perform standard computations, drawings, and visual aids for projects.
- May coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or other staff.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct field inspections to gather relevant data and contribute to site assessments.
- Utilize design software and tools for drafting and modeling.
- Support the development of cost estimates for projects.
- Perform quality control self-checks of assigned work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET accredited civil engineering program.
- Passed FE/EI exam
- 3+ years of relevant roadway design engineering experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Strong understanding of design principles and standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
