Job Responsibilities
- Ensure high-quality care is provided to all patients according to established standards and organizational policies.
- Assist with review and revising of applicable policies.
- Interview prospective candidates and facilitate onboarding and orientation of new hires.
- Schedule SANE personnel to provide 24/7 call coverage and assist ER Manager with tracking of active hours (i.e. – examination, court time, training, etc.).
- Collaborate with medical providers, victim advocates, law enforcement, Department of Child Services and other social service agencies to ensure optimal patient outcomes and enhancement of the patient experience
- Participate in Hamilton County’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) initiative.
- Perform all duties of a SANE as outlined in specific job description, including examination and treatment of patients, collection of forensic evidence, and provision of court testimony.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- Minimum: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing by date of hire to the position.
- Preferred: BSN
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: One (1) year of clinical experience as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
- Preferred: Previous experience as a clinical shift leader or coordinator and experience with UKG Pro scheduling platform
License/Certification Requirements
Minimum:
- Registered Nurse License eligible to practice in the state of Indiana
- Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Designation
- Basic Life Safety (BLS) - American Heart Association
Preferred:
- ACLS
- Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Certification (SANE) - International Association of Forensic Nurses
- PALS
