A registered professional nurse responsible for the delivery of patient care for assigned patients on a specific shift worked. Coordination of all aspects of the medical plan and nursing standards of care using the nursing process. Also directs and guides the activities of other personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Nursing Diploma and/or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Educational requirements per hospital certifications (Example: Stroke, Orthopedic/Spine)
- Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia
- ACLS & PALS prior to coming off orientation
- BLS
- Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN, MSN
- CPAN
- CAPA
- Previous PACU or critical care experience
- Previous ambulatory surgery experience
Skills
- Clinical competence in all aspects of the OPS/PACU Unit.
- Completion of annual Augusta Health education requirements and unit competencies.
- Annual education required per hospital certification(s).
- Demonstrates good leadership and communication skills.
- Demonstrates job related computer competence as seen in patient documentation and information retrieval, Meditech applications and GE applications.
- Practices within scope of Nurse Practice Act.
- Familiar with current Standards of Peri anesthesia Nursing Practice.
- Familiar with accrediting body standards applicable to daily work practices.
