Boone Memorial Health is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. As an ED Nurse, you'll provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients experiencing a wide range of medical emergencies while working alongside an experienced team of physicians, advanced practice providers, and healthcare professionals.

What You'll Do- Assess, triage, and provide nursing care to patients presenting with emergency medical conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications and IV therapy, and respond quickly to changes in patient status.
- Assist with emergency procedures, diagnostic testing, and life-saving interventions.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment while following all regulatory and organizational standards.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic emergency setting.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current, unrestricted West Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred
- Emergency Department nursing experience.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
Certification Requirements
The following certifications are required if not currently held:
- ACLS within six (6) months of hire.
- PALS within six (6) months of hire.
- TNCC within one (1) year of hire.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.

What We Do
Boone Memorial Health is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit healthcare system based in Madison, West Virginia. It primarily serves patients across Boone, Lincoln, Logan, and southern Kanawha counties, operating a critical access hospital with a 25-bed inpatient unit, Level IV Trauma Center, and Black Lung Center, as well as rural health clinics and a substance and mental health treatment program.
