Summary/Objective

The Registered Nurse (RN) at USDH plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing various procedures. Reporting to the Director of Endoscopy Operations and Nurse Manager, the RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This position involves direct patient interaction, coordination of care, supervision of non-licensed staff, and adherence to regulatory standards and facility policies. 

Essential Functions

  • Deliver direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after procedures, adhering to established protocols and the nursing process. 
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs and non-licensed staff members as necessary. 
  • Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies, ensuring readiness for patient care. 
  • Assist with procedures as required, following physician orders and maintaining compliance with PA State Board of Nursing guidelines. 
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, response to treatment, and overall condition, intervening as needed. 
  • Administer medications per physician orders, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines. 
  • Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of instruments and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards. 
  • Collaborate with staff, physicians, and management to address nursing issues and interpret facility policies effectively. 
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, infection control, emergency preparedness, safety, and quality assurance programs. 
  • Uphold professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with patients and staff.

Supervisory Responsibility

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional medical office environment, utilizing standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a per diem position. No weekends are required.

Travel based on location.

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred. 
  • Current State Registered Nurse Licensure 
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification
