As a member of the interdisciplinary team the Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing services to patients served by Hinds LifeCare. The registered professional nurse receives direction and supervision from the Clinical Manager and/or designee. This position will take calls on evenings, weekends or holidays from patients and families and make home visits as appropriate, attending to After Hours needs for our patients and families/Caregivers. Visits may include but are not limited to: Admission visits, Comprehensive visits, PRN visits, Imminent Death visits, Death visits, and Tuck-in Visits.

Qualifications
  • Compensation $58 - $61 an hour

Qualifications for this position include but are not limited to: 

  • Completed a professional nursing program accredited by the National League for Nursing (prefer completion of a baccalaureate program in nursing)
  • One year experience in acute care facility or community health agency, (hospice experience a plus)
  • Current RN/LVN Licensure and CPR Certification
  • Valid drivers license, auto insurance, reliable transportation and a willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e., Push, Pull, Lift/Carry 35lbs)
  • Available to work Tuesday -Thursday 4p-12:30a (regular); on call 12:30a-8a (call time/call duty)

Skills Required

  • Completion of a professional nursing program accredited by the National League for Nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • At least one year of experience in an acute care facility or community health agency
  • Hospice experience
  • Current RN or LVN licensure
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Auto insurance
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to use a personal vehicle for work
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 35 pounds
  • Availability Tuesday through Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with on-call duty from 12:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
