POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Lead will assist in supervising the daily activities of a production area to ensure daily goals are met by helping to coordinate and organize tasks within their group.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Ensures volume, cost, waste, and quality standards of their department are achieved.
  2. Works directly with material specialists to assure accurate and prompt delivery of materials.
  3. Works directly with engineering to resolve issues related to BoMs, design, and process to resolve line stoppages.
  4. Ensures compliance with all safety policies and initiatives, including keeping workspaces in orderly conditions.
  5. Trains and instructs line personnel, monitors production progress, and communicates with supervisors on performance and related discrepancies.
  6. Monitors build book signoffs, ensuring completeness of areas of accountability.
  7. Provides back up support for supervisor related to company guidelines, conduct, policies, and ethics.
  8. Provides feedback to supervisors on individual employee’s work performance.
  9.  Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.

Tools to be utilized:

Hand tools, power tools, grinders, air buffer/sander, air blower, and paint gun (paint lead), welders (welding lead), and fabrication machines like shear, brake, laser, time saver (fabrication lead).

QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 1+ years of department specific experience required.
  • 1+ years of Rosenbauer build process experience required.
  • 3+ years of department specific experience preferred.

Skills:

Language:

  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
  • Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Able to give verbal and written directions that can be followed.

Math:

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Smartsheets.
  • Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.

Abilities:

  • Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
