Job Description
Overview:
Ideal candidates will possess a strong technical background within a high volume industrial manufacturing environment with an emphasis in packaging equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of personnel engaged in maintaining and repairing plant mechanical and/or electrical equipment, physical structures of buildings, maintaining grounds, and/or mobile equipment. Candidates must be hard-working with a strong work ethic and an unfaltering determination to excel in a fast-paced environment, and a desire to gain tremendous personal and career growth.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Participate in employee development, coaching, and holding team accountable where appropriate
- Defines and implements preventive maintenance programs using uptime inspections/lubrications and downtime inspections for assigned equipment
- Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive and predictive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts
- Building teams through creating common goals and maintaining a transparent work environment; provide feedback and communicate effectively; performs work appraisals of employees
- Supports annual budget requirements for area of responsibility, and manages expenses against budget through each crop year
- Oversees work backlog and scheduling process for assigned area and coordinates work with operations
- Identify opportunities and implement/modify current processes to increase efficiency of work crew
- Analyzes and resolves equipment opportunities and assists others in solving workflow issues
- Confers with Leads, Peers, and Managers to coordinate and collaborate activities with other departments
- Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements
- Works alongside the engineering department in scope development and delivery of capital projects
- Coordinates vendor support and training as needed
- Actively participates in hiring and onboarding processes of new employees
- Investigates and follows up on safety outages, and works toward proactively sustaining a safe work environment
- Ensures work is completed in accordance with relevant codes and with proper documentation
- Champions continuous improvement activities to improve processes, efficiency, quality and service
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field highly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with continuous improvement, processes/procedures, as well as equipment optimization
- Experience with 5S implementation and sustainability
- Demonstrated ability to develop cross functional relationships, manage projects through their full life cycle (idea to implementation), and break down complex problems into simple solutions
- Excellent management skills including supervision, leadership, communication and planning necessary
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet constant deadlines with strong attention to detail and quality control
- Analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills required
- Must possess a high level of mechanical & electrical aptitude and be an effective communicator, mentor, and trainer
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to superior quality
- Proactive individual that takes responsibility for their equipment, lines, coworkers and the continuous improvement of the operation
- Able to work in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability is expected
- Able to work off-shifts, weekends & extended shifts (i.e. 12 hrs.)
- Understands, leverages, and champions the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) per established procedures - *Experience with Oracle is a plus
- Understands, implements, and interprets KPI’s to measure success
- Effective written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment that includes; shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining good working relationships with others to support team and company objectives and a willingness to work in all areas of the facility
Pay Range: $90,000 - $94,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
