We are looking for a Motion Designer who can build scalable, resolution-independent, and developer-friendly motion systems that elevate the overall product experience. In this role, motion is not merely "visual animation" but is treated as a living component of the product architecture.
Working closely with design, motion, and engineering teams, the Motion Designer will be primarily responsible for creating Rive-based interactive vector animations and ensuring their consistent implementation across the entire product ecosystem.
What You’ll Do
- Architect Interactive Motion: Design and build complex, state-driven animations using Rive, moving beyond linear timelines to create dynamic user experiences.
- Build Scalable Systems: Develop component-based motion assets and nested artboards that function as reusable building blocks, similar to Figma components.
- Bridge Design & Engineering: Collaborate closely with developers to ensure motion assets are optimized for mobile and web, facilitating a seamless handoff process.
- Maintain Motion Consistency: Integrate motion into the existing Design System, ensuring visual and functional consistency across all platforms and devices.
- Optimize Performance: Create lightweight, vector-based animations that remain resolution-independent and perform flawlessly on everything from small-screen devices to high-end displays.
- Define Interaction Logic: Map out how animations respond to user inputs (hover, press, success/fail states) and environmental triggers using Rive’s State Machine.
What You’ll Bring
- Advanced proficiency in Rive, including expert-level use of Inputs (Boolean, Trigger, Number), Listeners, and Layer logic.
- Component-Based Mindset: Proven experience in creating nested artboards and scalable motion hierarchies that can be easily updated and repurposed.
- Technical Fluency: Ability to "speak the language of code"—understanding how animations are triggered, controlled, and transitioned within a live application environment.
- Precision in Vector Motion: A portfolio demonstrating high-quality, raster-free animations that maintain 1:1 pixel perfection across various screen densities (1x, 2x, 3x).
- Documentation Skills: Experience preparing clean, actionable handoff documentation that simplifies the implementation process for engineering teams.
- Systemic Thinking: The ability to balance creative experience needs with technical constraints to produce sustainable, long-term motion solutions.
