Job Description

The Risk Division aims to effectively identify, monitor, evaluate, and manage the firm’s financial and non-financial risks in support of the firm’s Risk Appetite Statement and strategic plan. Operating in a fast paced and dynamic environment and utilizing best in class risk tools and frameworks, Risk teams are analytically curious, have an aptitude to challenge, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

 

This team is responsible for ensuring that the firm’s risks are managed with a consistent and integrated approach, such that the firm has a regular, comprehensive view of its risk profile as well as of key trends and emerging risks relative our risk appetite.

 

The team ensures that Risk & Divisional leadership is consistently informed on the holistic risk profile, inclusive of financial and non-financial risks, in a way that facilitates strategic planning and risk decision making. It interfaces with a wide array of businesses and risk management groups across the firm. The cross-disciplinary nature of the projects that the team engages in makes for a rewarding and multifaceted work environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with APAC Chief Risk Officer and Risk Division Chief Operating Officer, under the support of global Risk Division, to manage risk both at the regional portfolio level and across the firm’s Asia Pacific legal entity footprint.
  • Regulatory interaction: understand and interpret local regulatory risk management guidelines and changes to ensure compliance and influence decision-making; facilitate and participate in regulatory examinations; coordinates and provides responses to regulatory questionnaires, self-assessments, data requests, as well as industry advocacy.
  • Governance: coordinate with other Risk departments to drive new activity impact assessments and approvals; manages policies and procedure documents; participates in Risk Committees and Board meetings; contributes to thematic risk review for global Risk Leadership and Executive Office.

 

 Experience/skills required:

  • 1-4 years in industry, with prior experience in Risk Management a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, form own judgment/opinions, provide insights and drive changes.
  • Proactive with strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with and build relationships with people from different departments and levels of seniority.
