Job Summary

• Be a member of the Business Support Team with responsibility for supporting the Business Support Manager in the delivery of turnaround strategies to a portfolio of Corporate and Business Banking customers experiencing financial stress
• Planning/forecasting and proactive management of the Wholesale Expected Credit Loss (Impairment) process and related models
• Timely and accurate completion and submission of management information on the portfolio to all stakeholders in accordance with laid down procedures
• The individual must be a self starter and be able to diagnose and solve problems. The role will require working under very minimal supervision and the use of a great deal of initiative. The role requires the individual to be able to link data and trends and provide support in the formulation of realistic, achievable turnaround strategies

Job Description

Key accountabilities

Risk Measurement, Management & Reporting 50%

  • Ensure that PD (Probability of Default) and LGD (Loss Given Default) models are understood and provide inputs into model development and validation.
  • Responsibility for providing Management with analytical solutions/monitoring packs and MI to manage portfolios effectively and within policy.
  • Develop and apply data driven credit risk strategies within the Credit Risk team.
  • Liaise, co-ordinate and provide required inputs and responses on impairments, forecasting, MI and analytics to support management decisions
  • Participate, review and challenge in the working day meetings to establish month end impairments forecasts and understand impairment drivers
  • Identify new opportunities for enhancing, streamlining services through use of advanced analytics, automation and optimization
  • Ensure integrity; completeness and accuracy of data held in ABS systems.
  • Ensure adherence to and compliance with governance, risk policies, procedures and compliance policies, including but not limited to the Group’s RDARR policies.
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis reports on the specific credit related issues – reports include diagnostic reports and recommendation of remedial actions to appropriate stakeholders
  • Produce regular portfolio and regulatory reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure Group reporting deadlines are adhered to
  • Other responsibilities as may be assigned to you by line manager.

Business Management and Compliance 40%

  • Monitor, collate and analyse client financial information and identify/highlight any areas that require further investigation
  • Design, implement and maintain strategies for appropriate remedial action on poorly performing accounts in the portfolio.
  • In collaboration with the business counterparts, develop, implement and maintain credit risk strategies to optimally manage the performance of the portfolio.

  • Prepare instructions/ briefings to professionals for specialist reports and advice e.g. Independent Business Reviews. Evaluate and analyse results and present findings to BBS Manager / Team Leader
  • Record and deal with excesses
  • Address queries and issues from Relationship Managers, Risk Teams and Professionals such as accountants and solicitors

Staff Management 10%

  • Own personal development process by ensuring that SMART objectives have been agreed with team leader
  • Attend, participate and complete all relevant training, learning and development assigned in a timely manner
  • Ensure that performance review feedback has been given to you and agree remedial actions with team leader where non performance aspects have been defined
  • Communicate career plans with team leader and ensuring that proper training are provided
  • Participate in team discussions such knowledge sharing sessions, team building sessions.

Education

Higher Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
