  • Provide independent second-line oversight across market, credit, liquidity and operational risk, and act as the key local contact for risk-related matters in Korea.
  • Monitor market risk exposures, trading positions and relevant risk limits across Korea businesses, and identify and escalate material risk issues or limit breaches as appropriate.
  • Monitor liquidity risk, including FX open positions, foreign currency liquidity ratios and other relevant liquidity risk metrics, and perform stress and scenario analysis as required.
  • Monitor credit risk exposures and limits, and support risk assessments relating to clients, counterparties and relevant business activities.
  • Assess risk implications of new products, markets and material transactions, and recommend appropriate risk controls and mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate local regulatory risk requirements, including monthly RAMS reporting, regulatory stress testing and other risk-related submissions and interactions with the FSS.
  • Maintain local risk policies, procedures and governance documentation in line with Group standards and applicable Korean regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate local risk governance, including Risk Committee meetings, management risk reporting and follow-up on material risk matters.
  • Oversee operational risk matters, including risk incident follow-up and remediation, and support K-SOX, business continuity and other risk and control activities in coordination with relevant functions.
  • Provide risk analysis and management information to local senior management and Regional/Group Risk, and support risk-related projects and initiatives for CLSA Korea.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics or another relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant risk management experience within a securities firm, bank or other financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in market, credit and liquidity risk, preferably within securities or trading-related businesses.
  • Good understanding of equity and FICC products across cash and derivatives markets, including listed and OTC derivatives.
  • Good understanding of risk limits, stress testing and liquidity risk management, including FX open position and foreign currency liquidity ratio monitoring.
  • Familiarity with the Korean financial regulatory framework and FSS risk-related reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement, work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with local management, business functions and Regional/Group teams.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written Korean and English.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with VBA, Python, SQL or other analytical tools would be an advantage.
