Job SummaryGuideStone is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Investment Risk Analyst to join our Investments Risk Management team. This team supports risk oversight for GuideStone Capital Management, GuideStone Funds, and GuideStone Investment Services. In this role, you’ll help ensure compliance with SEC regulations and serve as an independent risk advisor to our Portfolio Management team and senior leadership.
You’ll contribute to our risk management programs across a variety of critical areas, including:
Derivatives Risk
Liquidity Risk
Valuation Risk
Market and Credit Risk
Derivatives Risk Management
- Support implementation of the derivatives risk management program in line with SEC Rule 18f-4.
Identify and assess derivatives risks, enforce guidelines, and perform stress testing, backtesting, and reporting.
Work with Portfolio Management and third-party vendors to monitor leverage limits.
Prepare reporting for the Derivatives Risk Management Committee.
Liquidity Risk Management
Assist in overseeing the Funds’ liquidity risk program as outlined by SEC Rule 22e-4.
Classify investment liquidity, perform ongoing risk reviews, and engage with vendors and Portfolio Management.
Produce reporting for the Liquidity Risk Management Committee.
Monitor and analyze client account liquidity risk and compliance.
Valuation Risk Management
Support the Valuation Committee in assessing valuation risks and testing fair value methodologies.
Contribute reporting as needed.
Market and Credit Risk
Evaluate investment, issuer, and counterparty credit risks associated with new investments.
Assess the adequacy of risk management across GuideStone’s investment platforms.
What You'll Need
- Up to 5 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- FRM, CFA, or CQF (completed or in progress) preferred
- Knowledge of risk management under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and SEC rules (18f-4, 22e-4, 2a-5)
- Familiarity with key risk metrics such as VaR and stress testing
- Understanding of equities and fixed income risk management
- Knowledge of derivatives (linear and non-linear) and related risk sensitivities
- Advanced Python programming and modeling skills
Preferred Tools & Competencies
- Experience with BlackRock Aladdin, Bloomberg, Power BI or Tableau
- Basic understanding of generative AI tools
- Strong grasp of macroeconomic trends
- Clear and professional communication across various stakeholder levels
- Effective time management and prioritization
- Sound judgment in balancing evolving program demands
- Strong analytical and project management abilities
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct
